Know the level
Look at other players runs and use practice mode to get a feel of the level, don't worry getting the whole thing nailed down just yet.
PracticeMode
Practice mode is super helpful if you know how to use it. Don't just try and get from the start to finish (except for getting a basic understanding of the level).
Use it to target specific tricky parts, practising over and over again and then implementing that practice into normal runs little by little. The key for me was really to stick to small chunks and not try fluke the whole level. Just build on from what you can do.
-A small addition to this, try not brute force your way through. If a section is really difficult and you keep dying, it could be there is an easier way you are not seeing. Practice smartly in other words.
Copy the Level
This one was a game changer for me. Some levels allow you to make copies, a button on the left of the level screen. You can then create a start point in areas where you struggle. (Just make sure you acknowledge the speed/gamemode you should be at that point as the start point wont adjust this automatically). This is a lot better than practice mode as it means you get to practice with the music and don't have to rack up attempts getting to the difficult part. I had like 3 copies of a level once each practising different sections :D
Don't get discouraged
This might not be as relevant to you but for me this was a big one. Keep at it and don't be afraid to rack up lots of attempts. It'd really bum me out looking at the comments and seeing people boast completing a level in 200 attempts when I was on like 1000 and counting but now I just ignore it. The diversity in skill level is huge and what I find is a level's difficulty is more down to what your own strengths are. I've known easy "medium demons" and hard "easy demons" just because they had a section I was either really good or really bad at (if that makes sense lol)
Pick Carefully
Stick with easy demons for a while. I'd recommend iSpyWithMyLittleEye. That one's a really fun level and not too difficult if you look past the deco. When choosing make sure you look at a playthrough first or run through in practice mode because there might be a super difficult section you are not aware of. Unfortunately there are some really unbalanced easy demons out there. It might be tempting to go for the demon gauntlet levels but the first level is a real pain. Give it a go, but personally I found it super annoying. Other good easy levels I've completed recently:
Colorado - super fun and bright level, fast paced but readable gameplay imo. First ball section is fairly unforgiving and some of the ship gameplay is tight but the rest of the level is easy for me
Intoxicated Freedom - same soundtrack as colorado, really beautiful level and only difficult towards the end with some very fast dual gameplay (although it might as well be singular)
Fun - Another bright level. Lots of jumps in this one, make you feel badass but tests your finger
Robert - this one's quite tense but fairly short, relying on timing a lot
Monolithos - people keep telling me this one is easy so I'll throw it on the list even though
I found it really challenging lol. It's an XL level but looks stunning. I really got stumped by the gravity change wave section.
Finally if you can get past the first gauntlet level, traction is not too bad, likewise the second level in the doom gauntlet, buried angel is quite easy.
Hope this helped. Remember, geometry dash is hard! What seperates those who've completed 100s of demons and those who've completed none (other than time :D) is usually practice. So practice practice practice.
For example you might start with "iS" or "The Nightmare", then later you might try to tackle levels like "Funked Up" or "SaDrop"
When you are ready for Medium demons, you might want to do "B" or "Kororinpa"
There is a Youtube video by GD Cob where he tries to find the easiest demons in the game. It was a super helpful video for me starting out.
You will not improve if you aren't beating the full levels.
A goal might be "Beat Demon pack 3"
or simply "Make this my new hardest"
It's very important to stay motivated to beat the levels; it was the biggest help for me.
