Modern Levels
Why have geometry dash levels turned from actually enjoyable skill based levels to levels that present artificial difficulty through the usage of blinding lights and extreme effects. It feels like these levels are just made for style and not for the user to actually enjoy playing them. Currently I'm talking about the first few levels on the featured levels list.

its not about anger anything, its a genuine question. Look back at older levels in 2.1, although they are still stylized they are more skill based and not just blinding visuals. I like the daily tabs levels as they do look really cool don't get me wrong, but why have creators at least from what I've seen, steer away from those older styles that were possible to sight-read etc.

Because people praise you more, gd is more art showcase than game now, gameplay no longer matters, the only thing that matters is the deco, because i mean, even if it isnt a great level, people still praise you for it, and popularity has its benefits. ;)

Every version of the game tends to develop a trending style that players usually use throughout the duration of the version.

Modern levels are also easier to make than traditional design levels (not the case with all modern levels but a lot of them.)

You must also understand that a lot of creators aren't actually that skilled at the game itself so they wouldn't know what would qualify as good gameplay. Some creators are genuinely just dedicated creators and don't play the game outside of the editor. Playtesters are often used but mostly just for harder end demon levels.
