Playing older version of GD

Hey! I just want to ask if there is any way to play older versions of GD. I just want to try them out. Of course if 2.1 will be released, I will play it, but now I would like to try out older versions. Could someone tell me how to do that?

What's the point?
Searching for older versions is nearly the same as just going to the official levels and play Time Machine. Or go towards the online levels and go trough map packs for very old levels.

But going to an older version does not work at all. By that, there is no point.

I'd guess you could check out some of the sneak peeks on robtop's YT channel. Here you find all 1.0 to 2.1 sneak peaks. From there you can assume what blocks where in the game.

Also, try playing the first ever created levels. You'll see what people could use back than

Well there are shady ways of doing it but on the PC you can only go back to 1.9 because no PC version of 1.8 or below were ever made if you want to do that then you have to play it on a andriod emulator or an a phone or tablet

What content do you want from older updates? If you want to use older blocks, they're still located in the level editor.

why is this the top post google gives. it gives nothing on how to acually get the older versions running. would it requiare a older version of steam itself? how do i get the older version to run. also btw i used steam db to download the older release off of steam's servers.
