Can't download custom songs

I'm not sure when I started having this problem, but basically when I try downloading a song through GD it immediately cancels the download with the message "Download failed, please try again later." I've already uninstalled and reinstalled the game and it hasn't been fixed. I can freely access the Newgrounds website and even download songs from there, just not through GD.

You can try a few things:
1. Options -> Change custom songs location (Fix if custom songs aren't working.)
2. Check to see if you haven't reached the maximum songs downloaded, maybe delete a couple from levels you don't play anymore OR go to Options -> No song limit.
3. Try with "Load songs to memory" and without it. That should also be under options.
4. Verify integrity of game cache in case you don't have the music folder (somehow).

Had another look into it. Another way you might be able to download custom songs is by going to the Newgrounds website and download the song off there. Once you've downloaded it, save the song into the "Geometry Dash" file. Not sure if yours is in the same location but my GD file is under Appdata > Local. There should be all your songs named only after the song id number from Newgrounds (Which can be found in the url of the song)

Example: https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/782870 <<<

Put your song into the Geometry Dash file and name it ONLY after the song id and make sure the file is .mp3 which it should automatically be once you've downloaded it from Newgrounds.

i done that.. still doesnt work... or the problem is i downloaded it from youtube and not newgrounds? i still rename it to the song id which is 122543

This happens when you cannot reach newgrounds' servers or your country interrupts your connection to newgrounds. use a VPN to bypass it.

I found a website where you can download mp3 files from newgrounds and some other sites.

You basically paste the song URL to the textbox and click convert

i found out the problem, newgrounds is under maintenance, because It happened to me, so it said that when i went onto newgrounds.com

I cant download anything no matter what, even when I download an mp3 and paste into the files and change the id, it still doesn't work can anyone help?

its something with the wifi because it doesnt work on school but it does work at home
