HOW TO FIX GEOMETRY DASH NOT LAUNCHING

Ok guys and gals, many people are having the same issue as I am currently. Whenever we attempt to launch GD, the app never opens but says running momentarily. What we need to establish is some common ground behind what happened when GD stopped working, and things we've tried that don't work.

I had GD open that same morning it stopped working, and it was working properly EXCEPT that I couldn't save my data. Later on the day it stopped working, I updated my phone's GD to 2.11. Then I suddenly couldn't launch. If anything similar happened to anyone else, let me and everyone else know.

Things that HAVEN'T worked for me are as follows:
-Uninstalling/reinstalling.
-Checking file integrity.
-Deleting all the files within the properties of GD, then uninstalling and reinstalling.
-Moving the download folder location.
-Disabling VSync.
-Enabling VSync.
-Restarting the PC.

Post anything in common with this that you have, and perhaps your PC specs. My system is set up like this:

Windows 10 Pro
Version 1703
OS Build 15063.726
AMD Ryzen 5 1600 Six-Core Processor
8.00 GB Installed RAM
GeForce GTX 1060 GPU
64-bit Operating System

HOW TO FIX:
Recently a new Windows 10 update was released. I chose to ignore the first time it told me to update, and then my GD stopped working. Just now I finally updated my PC and GD is now working normally. If you are having this issue, make sure to update your PC as soon as possible! That's what worked for me. The new Verion # after the update should be 1709! Make sure this is your current Windows version. If it isn't, UPDATE!

Same issue and i cant fix it but right before i got the issue parts of my gd went compleatly black. Anyone know why?

Reinstall your opeariton system, that solved it for me. Just delete everything and do it from scratch. Do every in-the-book thing necessary before downloading steam and doing anything.

I had this problem earlier. the way i fixed it was by right clicking Gd, properties, 3rd tab, local files, right clicking Gd, properties, compatiblilty tab, (if you can change it skip this step) if it doesn't let you change it (that was my problem) go to change settings for all users, then turn compatiblity mode off, once you have the abbility to change it, change it to windows 95, try launching it if it works, it will lag so once you have opened it and it ran change compatiblity to windows 8.

try to go to the local GD files via steam then right click in geometry dash --> run in compabillity mode --> windows98/windows Me; I had the same problem and it worked
