Geometry Dash refuses to start EVEN after a hard reset of the PC
I've tried everything so far
Reinstalling my display software
Running the exe file on every windows compatibility setting
Updating my drivers
Reinstalling my entire C++ library
Validating the game files
Attempting to start it via shortcut
Deleting the appdata folder contents
Deleting Geometry dash via steam then using an app to delete anything geometry dash related in my pc then reinstalling via steam
Reinstalling steam itself
Reverting some performance settings i made
Updating Windows

Specs are: i3-7100 3.9GHz
Windows 10 Pro
64 bit operating system
GeForce GT 1030
8 GB ram

After a week or so of searching through these guides and looking as deep as i could i had no results in the end
So i have decided to do the one thing i haven't tried, a hard reset of the PC and to my surprise the issue is still here

When i click 'Play' it changes to 'Running' for a few seconds then goes back to play without warning without anything

Yes the game used to work fine before, started quick, not laggy whatsoever, it just stopped working one day.
Yes every other steam game starts without issue

I asked my friends if the game works and they said it does for them

I'm out of options folks
(Yes, after the hard reset i made sure every driver is up to date, that the windows is up to date that my c++ libraries are installed right etc..)

Let's sue RobTop
Have you tried on a other steam account or on a other device with the same account? Try that maybe that will work.
I have the same problem :(
try on another device
You have to delete your data. It's corrupted.
I did this and it worked!

Though it's drastic, what worked for me was going into C:\Users\(your user)\AppData\Local and deleting the GeometryDash folder. The game then restarted as normal, without any of my old data of course, but it ran.

Did that, as I said "deleting the appdata folder contents" which included downloaded songs and save files

Edit: will try some more things that came up in my mind, if anything works, I'll get back to y'all with an update

So, when you launch GD from steam, it just doesn't open? Nothing happens? That happend to me, and I deleted my data and it worked immediately after that.

Yeah exactly that, but when I deleted my data, it didn't fix the problem

Did you try to use a other device with the same steam account or tried a different steam account? That might fix the problem.

Don't posses other devices, don't have geometry dash on other accounts. Can't do that sadly
