GeometryDash.exe Has Stopped Working

every time i try to play GD now it just says this. can someone tell me what to do?

go onto libuary right click geometry dash, go on properties, click local files at the top, click browse local files, right click geometry dash and go on properties go on compatibility and set the second one down on window 8, it happened to me b4 hope it helps

I got it to work by

1. Going to steam and right clicking on GD, then click properties

2. Go to "local files" and choose "browse local files"

3. Right Click "GeometryDash.exe/GeometryDash" and click properties.

4. Go to "compatibility" and go to "Compatibility Mode.

5. Click "Run this program in compatibility mode for" then choose windows 95, nothing else just windows 95. Click apply and BAM! GD is Working Again but thats not all

6. GD will be running kinda slow so you close GD and do step 1-4 again

7. Click "Run this program in compatibility mode for" then choose windows 8 (even if you have windows 10) this time then uncheck "Run this program in compatibility mode for" and open GD

8. I had this problem before and it is really upseting so if this doesnt work i am SOOO sorry, but i am sure there are other ways in this discussion, hope you all can get GD to work again!
