What's The Purple Key Do?

Just freed the basement man, what do I do with the purple key?

Better question is how you freed him, there is an annoying bug that makes screen black and game crash

The key is probably for a new update; possibly 2.2 or it might be for a new secret that will be discovered in 2.1 later on; though no one knows. I have the purple key too and haven't found anything secret that uses the key

I think the demon gauntlet is just a bonus, I don't think its what happens when you use the key

it opens the demon gauntlet, you get a cool spider and some gems for completing the demon gauntlet, nothing really happens after that
