Geometry Dash.exe has stopped working
Ok, so I recently installed a new AMD Readon game driver update. Before this update geometry dash ran. After this update geometry dash didn't run and closed without any ryhme or reason. Other games work it seems to be specifically geometry dash that doesn't work. Windows doesn't even offer any solutions when it closes. I looked up some youtube videos for people who seem to have the same issue and I follow the steps that they take and it doesn't seem to help at all. Again, I installed a new AMD driver for Readon, and geometry dash doesn't run anymore because of this update. Well I think it was the driver update anyways because that was the only major change since. However, if anyone has any information as to help me or if anyone has encountered the same problem help would be greatly apprecitaed. Thanks!!

I've just had this happen to me for the first time a couple mins ago. But whats weird about it is I didn't do a single thing. I didn't install any new driver updates or anything. It just started happening out of the blue.

I've been reading about some other problems synonomys to mine and it happened out of the blue for them so that leads me to beleive that the driver didn't have anything to do with it. Some people were saying things like it might have been banned from steam or something along those lines. But thank you

Yep. But, I don't think it was banned from Steam because I'm seeing other people playing the game at this very moment, livestreaming it. As well as it's still on the store.

Ok, after hours of troubleshooting i got it back to working condition. All i had to do was delete both CCManager.dat files in the %appdata%\Local\Geometry Dash folder and then I was able to get in game. Turns out that somehow my stats/data somehow got corrupted. I logged into my acount and then loaded my saved cloud data. Luckily i got mostly everything back aside from the couple hours of work that was lost in one of my levels because i forgot to save before i went off (not knowing this catastrophe was going to happen). Luckily i also backed up my songs, texture pack and menu song. Hopefully this can help out anyone in need of fixing this issue.

Maybe you should Factory Reset your computer so you can remove the driver update.. You probably should'nt take my advice since I suck at problems like these.. So, atleast I tried.

Those two folders contain the boot data for the game and the player data on the disk drive... Must be some compatability issue with different systems.

Ok... So I went into the game data ande couldn'd find the specific files you were talking about. I will now list all the files found within the folder. _CommonRedist (This just contains the boot data). Resources (this just contains the icons, sounds, ect). fmod.dll (DLL stands for Dynamic-Link Library which is dependant on an .exe file to run. Looking through the folders I see no .exe files). There is the geometry dash shortcut. glew32.dll (I think 32 stands for 32 bit). But I have no idea what glew is. Iconv.dll (this is probably the certain scrips that run the if/then/and/ statements meaning that if you have this done you can use this icon or color or play this level). libcocos2d.dll (I have no idea what this is but it is dependant on an .exe file). libcurl.dll (I think the lib is short for library, so this is could possibly be the song scrips). I'm not going to finish naming all fo the files because they mean nothing without an .exe file. The one thing that is missing from the file list. Because the game is made of .dll files, which are dependant on .exe files, the game will not run. So I will try to uninstall and reinstall and hopefully the game will load, and actually install the .exe file. But thank you.
