Custom Songs Not Playing? How to fix it.

EDIT: hi, future me here, just want to clarify that this thread is 3 and a half years old (edit from May 29th, 2021), so there is a lot of misspelling ahead so please dont go hard on me, and if this solution doesnt work for you then go try searching somewhere else because i stopped playing geometry dash and theres nothing i can do about it, so yeah, stay safe.

Custom Songs Not Playing. FIXED

Hello everybody! My name isSans The Bhoper, and i'm gonna teach you how to fix the problem of custom songs not playing. Are you tired to you download custom songs to play in levels but theres the error of not work? well here is the solution!

HOW TO FIX IT:

1). Go to C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\GeometryDash
and delete all songs, DON'T DELETE THE SAVES, ONLY THE .MP3 FILES.
(ATTENTION! Your Geometry Dash need to be closed to do this.)

2). Start Geometry Dash, Go to Options, Options again. Go and find Change custom songs location and mark it.

3). Download any custom song and try playing the level, if worked, thanks for viewing this tutorial.

If anyone else is having the same issue and this solution doesn't work, I've found what the problem was for me:
All you have to do is changing the yt to mp3 converter to download the song, at first i was using https://ytmp3.mobi/ which made the song playable using a media player, but not for the game. I then switched to https://www.ytmp3.net/ and the song worked in game.

Nope! Still not working after another hour of going through every file in geometry dash.

It makes no sense. When I was 7 years old, I figured out how to get a custom song in under 5 minutes. I'm using the exact same method for the exact same level now but it just refuses to play the song. Everything should be working perfectly, I did no steps wrong and followed multiple tutorials. I give up, I guess I'll never get to play that fun level ever again.

ITS BEEN 84 YEARS... I FOUND THE SOLUTION
1: download the song on Newgrounds
2: open downloads file
3: and remember to rename it to JUST the song id
4: go to steam, right click on Geometry Dash then click Browse local Files
5: then drag the downloaded song into this file
