To do this go to Settings>System>Display>Graphics, then find Disney Princess : Enchanted Journey and select whatever option uses the GPU
If the game doesn't appear automatically go to add an app and go into .../steamapps/common/Disney's Princess Enchanted Journey and select play.exe
Hopefully this works for y'all
This didn't seem to work for me :(
Thank you for the tip though!
Do you have any idea what else might be the problem?
if you find a solution, lmk lol
A workaround for this problem is by using Mesa to convert OpenGL to Vulkan and it works great so far. My guess is that the OpenGL drivers from AMD are missing some extensions (suprise) which causes the black screen/black textures. Download this: https://github.com/pal1000/mesa-dist-win/releases/download/23.1.5/mesa3d-23.1.5-release-msvc.7z and unpack it somewhere in a folder. DO NOT DELETE IT AFTER FINISHING.
First step is to open the perappdeploy.cmd file.
Copy the location of your game folder into the commandline and press ENTER.
Then write "play.exe" (without quotation marks) and press ENTER.
Press Y and ENTER when asked about OpenGL desktop driver.
Press N and ENTER when asked OpenGL ES support.
Press N and ENTER when asked about off-screen rendering.
Press N and ENTER when asked about graw library.
Press Y and ENTER when asked about More Mesa Deployment.
That's it! The game is working fine now!
PS
Don't forget to install the widescreen patch if you wish to play it in higher resolutions.
Edit:
For future reference, I also published a guide to make it easier to find the solution for newcomers. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3023368733
