My volume is up and the game sound is not working...

after the first screen shows saying what this game uses as its subject, it seems to stop and doesnt go anywhere else. screen stalls and stays black

Hi there. I'm having trouble finding the bonus levels in the game. I go to the photos in the menu house and nothing extra pops up. I've beaten the game twice and even found all the collectibles, so I do not know what else I need to achieve.

So when I try and open the game steam says "running" then immediately "syncing" and then nothing. I'm on the most recent version of OS X. Is anyone else having this problem? Is there a solution?
