Simultaneous turns in these types of games usually doesn't apply to A.I players. Even in a match that contains 2 human players and 2 A.I players, normally the 2 Humans take their turn simultaneously while the A.I then act in regular turn order after all humans have finished. This is just based on my experience with other similar games like Civilization 5 and Endless Legend that utilize simultaneous turns, I assume Heroes 7 would aim to do the same.
The feature is meant for multiplayer to significantly reduce downtime, especially when playing with large numbers of human players. Turn based multiplayer is more fair and strategical overall. But simultaneous turns can save so much downtime that the sacrifice is often worth it for a lot of people.
If the A.I turns are slow that's a whole other issue that should be tackled separately from simultaneous turns.
That aside has anybody tried Simultaneous Turns in multiplayer yet? It's a very important feature to me and will greatly impact my decision to purchase this game. If the simultaneous turns work like they do in Civ5 and Endless Legend then I'm sold, but if it's lackluster like in HoMM5 then I won't be so happy.
But that is small potatoes compaired to waiting 5-15 minutes for your turn to come back up in you-go-I-go games.
Yeah, ive read the bug-notes and apparently they cant even program the menu properly. The sim turns option is supposed to be for multiplayer only.
Seriously though, i gave up on testing it, because it takes up to 10 mins for a turn to end. And im on a i7 3,40GHz rig with 16GB.
Alright, thats maybe not high end, but it manages Witcher 3 on almost max.
This game consists out of miniature models with like 100 polygons and sprites for half the objects, and still manages to chug resources down like an irishman wiskey.
I wont buy it if not. Love civ in multiplayer, and wanted to play a homm with my friends on a little lan party for ages now.
My friends and i play turn based games for years and it is a little bit disappointing, only so few turn based games have working multiplayer implementations. Even with sim turns you often have to wait. Playing windowed mode is also a MUST WORK/HAVE for us. (For example if 1 or 2 players need a longer time for their turns, we sometimes played another game like terraria in background)
Also, from what little I've read, even if you get Simu MP game to work a bit, when any other player gets into a battle, a graphic picture fills the screen of all other players, and they can do nothing until the battle is over.
+1
The multiplayer is ♥♥♥♥ now, even without the desyncs. I love the simturn feature too, but its kinda broken since you have to wait whenever any other playergo into battle. Just before the loadingscreen pops up you can actually get a sneak peak on your enemys army.
Hoping for a patch to fix this ♥♥♥♥♥♥ game.
If sim turns for the whole game are an option in this game I will definitly buy it.
