The procedure you should do, is:
Start the editor
Generate map
Close the editor
Send the log
You can send the log to ozolit@limbic-entertainment.de
Thanks in advance and thanks for the report :)
In my Step 3, above, I had clicked on Save Selected. You should click on Dont Save.
It then generated the map and I selected the Play Map from the icons at the top and after a few minutes it was ready to go. The only question now is that in the template, I had selected 2 players assuming that one would be controlled by the AI. They were both Active, however, as in a Hotplayer game. Is it possible for one of them to be controlled by the AI, or must they both be controlled by the Human?
@brouillardd, generating a map takes some time, especially with big ones that have an underground level. For the interaction part, that seems curious. Could you upload a generated map somewhere so I could take a look?
Playing in the editor is meant just as a way to test the map. To actually "play" the game, you would want to click on the light-bulb button to "rebuild" the lighting, and then click on the button to publish the map.
Then, when you launch the game itself, you should be able to play your map with whatever player setup you want
I will let you know if this doesn't work.
Thanks again...
Playing in the editor can be done in two ways (the icons are next to eachother)
- Test Map (which is faster to load but forces all combats to be quick combats)
- Play Map (which launches a new instance of the game so it's slower)
both cases allow you to test/play the map but like you say, rebuilding the lighting and publishing is needed to have a proper map.
after that you should be able to play it from the game lobby, which is better anyway (because the editor and an unpublished map will take quite more CPU and memory than the standalone game with a published map)
if this doesn't work please let us know
sorry this wasn't more clear. thanks for your input and patience
