And you can email me singleton@limbic-entertainment.de
Heart examined my screen shots and my launch.log file, and determined that a game configuration file was configured wrong. The path to the file is C:\Users\[username]\Documents\My Games\Might & Magic Heroes VII\MMH7Game\Config, and the name of the file is MMH7SystemSettings.ini. It's a text file that is editable in Notepad.
This is what it had for ResX and ResY parameters:
ResX=5856
ResY=2112
My only conclusion is that the 1.4.1 patch changed these settings somehow. I have changed them to my monitor’s native resolution, and what I had the game resolution set to:
ResX=3440
ResY=1440
Changing the above parameters does indeed allow the game to start and run.
However, there is still an interesting bug left behind – the main menu screen is shifted to the right, rather than full-screen or centered. The game itself (once you’re in a map) appears to be fine – it’s full screen 3440x1440, centered, etc. But the main menu screen is not. I don’t remember if the main menu is full-screen or 2560x1440, but it appears to be a 2560x1440 screen, shifted to the right on the screen.
I sent another screen shot showing the shifted main menu screen to Heart.
Thanks a TON to Heart (Dan) for the excellent and fast assistance!
Ever since fixing the resolution parameters in the settings file, 1.4.1 has been working fine. Colors look great, load times are great.
I'm really struggling to find anything broken at this point. Pretty addictive game play!

Playing older saved scenarios without a hitch. I'm I just lucky?
I had to delete my entire campagin in order ot make the game work again.
As I have said, you, yes you that are reading this and has programmed that game, plese change job, go to sell potatoes or something.
These suckers at Ubisoft are ruining this great serie... I've played at it since the first chapter and I can see how down the new chapters are gone.
Please developers, go to play to the old ones HOMM and then see how you have to make a good game.
I don't care for your extra brilliant 3d graphics, I just want to play again and to enjoy my favorite serie.
