First, make sure you're running full compatibility mode even if it worked before without it.
If you had it on then you'll have to look for the file "comdlg32.dll" on your OS instalation drive and then https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3a8LaIME66M#t=16s
I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble launching Heroes VII. Ɣɪ¢♰ɪɱƧ makes a great suggestion! If you haven't already, I'd recommend launching your game in compatibility mode[www.ubisoft.com]. This is helpful if you're encountering technical trouble in an older game you're trying to launch on a more modern operating system.
If you're still having trouble launching the game after trying in compatibility mode, would you be able to share what other troubleshooting steps you've tried? You've mentioned that you've already contacted the Ubisoft Support team, so it would be helpful to know what you've already tried so we don't repeat any steps.
Thanks,
- Ubisoft Support
Thanks for confirming this for us. Sorry to hear you've been experiencing problems launching due to an authentication error.
We'd need to take a closer look at your account to be able to move forward here. We can see that you've had a support case open with us in the past that has since closed. Could you please open a new {LINK REMOVED} support case with us?
From here you can update your case with your issue by heading to your {LINK REMOVED} open cases.
If you have any issues accessing or updating this case, let us know here, and we'd be happy to advise.

Thank you for taking the time to update us.
I can assure you that it is always our intention to help you in every way we can. We are not able to accept a cropped version of a proof of purchase, this is not from a lack of believing you but instead to follow our processes.
If you are able to provide the details requested in the case we will be happy to help further.
- Ubisoft Support
As advised we are unable to accept cropped versions of proof of purchase. We will be more than happy to help you further in your support case.
Thank you.
