What's the difference between the Normal (Deluxe) edition and the Complete Edition?
I want to buy it but can't find any info regarding this. What's extra in the Complete Edition?

According to the store page, the complete edition includes the "Lost Tales of Axeoth" extension and the "Trial By Fire" add-on. But I was wondering about that myself. Since there is no DLC, would buyers of the normal "deluxe" edition be locked out of the extensions later?

As an additional thing, both versions include Heroes 3 HD, I own that already. If I buy, would I get a giftable copy in my inventory or would this extra be wasted?

If I but it on Steam do I get a Uplay key as well?

And if I buy it on Uplay will I get a Steam key?

Maybe, and no.

If the Steam version uses the UPlay launcher then yes, you should be able to launch it directly from UPlay. But no game bought on UPlay includes a Steam key.

I just bought the Complete Edition, and got this message.

According to our records, you already own one or more of the items included in your cart.

If purchasing for yourself, you will not receive an extra copy of:
Heroes® of Might & Magic® III - HD Edition
Would you still like to continue with your purchase?

Thanks for the info, so basically wasted. I hate paying extra (it's cheaper on UPlay without the bonus game, so it isn't a free bonus) for stuff I already own if I can't even give it to someone who doesn't.

Both versions include Heroes III HD. You're not paying for it, it's an extra. Heroes VII is at ten bucks right now, do you really think 4 out of the 10 bucks for a modern game is Heroes III HD?

It's like buying Doom 3 BFG, which includes not only Doom 3 remastered and DLC, but also de previous Dooms as well (plus DLC).
But if you don't like the deal don't buy it, I don't see the complication.

You're most likely working from a false premise here. I seriously doubt HoMM III adds anything to the price whatsoever. How about "thanks for a freebie" instead of complaining? $12.49 for Heroes VII, the DLC and also stand-alone expansion is wonderful. Homm III is just there for the ride. If you already own it, like I did, then no biggie, no foul. The GOG edition of Homm III is better anyways. STEAM could give me 17 copies and I'd still load up the GOG version instead.

I didn't check current prices, but at least in 2018 the version on UPlay didn't include the bonus AND was cheaper. In other words, the version on Steam got the added bonus and had a higher price tag. You could argue that just MMH VII alone was more expensive here and the added bonus was still free, but it sure doesn't feel free under these circumstances.

Are you sure it was the deluxe edition what was cheaper or just the base game?

I'm pretty sure I compared the Complete Edition in both stores. As sure as I can be over 3.5 years later.

You are correct. The full version in Uplay is 5 bucks cheaper and doesn't include HIII HD, so you save 5 bucks if you buy it on Uplay compared to the full price on Steam.
So since you need Uplay anyway to play HVII it seems like it'd be better to just buy it there then. Unless the sales in the ubi store are not as significant, I don't know how they work there.
