Final Boss. Help please?

I'm completely, utterly stuck. I've seen videos of people playing through the game and it seems like the green and red limbs disappear sometimes. I've been able to make them disappear myself but not consistently as I have no idea WHAT triggers that. Any help is appreciated.
I'm very frustrated with this and just want to get over with what I found an otherwise good game as soon as possible.

The green vines disappear when they grab a platform with spikes.
For example, when Irrlicht is red, turn on the green aura, wait on the lowest middle platform;
when a vine grabs it jump away so that your green aura doesn't cover the spikes.
After doing that for both vines, just like before,you can attract a blue flame and make it chase you until she turns blue (so that she attracts it); when she's blue, turn on your green aura and make sure it covers her shield, so that the flame can hit her.

I spent LOT of time and didn't figure it out... (I take the down one of the vines but didn't even know how! thanks, but that is really the beating of the game? it is so gloomy... it is pity.
