Rising Angels: Reborn

Rising Angels: Reborn

Canonical Ending Disappointment
I'm a bit annoyed that the cannoical ending is Natalie turning traitor. I would have prefered the sequal to be about Natalie and Kika (and gang) navigating the intrigues of the Katajion Directorship rather than them on the run.

Sol and Alphose points out that Director Tsuku might keep the greedier ones in line until they kick the bucket.

The Directorship appears decentralized and partially corrupt. It is exactly these traits decentralization which would make it difficult for the higher ups to get ALL the secrets of an ancient super weapon. A united empire with sophistical technology might, but each of the wreak willed Directors has a personal agenda. The risk of Natalie's superiors finding and misusing a superweapon is certainly there but small if she simply followed protocol.

Kika pointed out in the upper echhelons of the Directorship (which is presumably corrupt given how Kika describes people who get a taste of power), "He who had the gold makes the rules." Kika is effectivly nobility, and loaded on top of that.

With a decorated SITO on one hand (seeing the positive reactions Natalie's boss gave her), and our little princess on the other (who might become a hero herself, Kika has a certainl kind of cleverness but her personaltiy slightly holds her back), the gang has a chance to sway the upper eccelons. Kika is part of their normal navy, not secret like SITO, which means she can gain fame from succesful missions without compromising her job. If this happens, PR demands the Directors can't deploy an ancient weapon to scorch the heavens if Kika Starr the Hero says no.

So Natalie gave up her rank because of Zuri's doubts when she had a descent chance of averting disaster without betraying her organization. :steamfacepalm:

I played this game so long ago, that I even forgot what it is about... Well, no, not entirely - but I forgot how the characters were called... The only ening I got is with that green-skinned-dragon-girl leaving... Hah. I think I should replay this game some day. :steamhappy::steamfacepalm:
And, well, seems that shooting da-doktor is bound to leave miss dragon dissapointed...

Actually if Natalie is a good soldier and does everything according to orders (including capture for interrogation), "miss dragon" is very disappointed while if you shoot the bad guy, she is much less disappointed but feels like she failed and still leaves.

What a waste of an ending... Or rather, fatalistic outlook - there is no way...
