ArcheAge Chronicles

ArcheAge Chronicles

Is it true that ArcheAge Chronicles will use blockchain at some extent?
Hello! :)

I've heared a rumor that the ArcheAge Chronicles will use blockchain tech in some aspects of the game. Is it true? If so, then will it actually be a play-to-earn game? To be honest, I like such idea, even if it won't be in the Steam version of the game. I know at least one example, where Steam version of a game doesn't have blockchain support, while the same standalone game is play-to-earn game with cryptocurrency.

Thanks in advance.

P.S. It would be interesting to see the detailed answer on the matter from the ArcheAge Chronicles developers.

P.P.S Let's avoid crypto-hatred posts in this topic, please :)

naw fk crypto keep that ♥♥♥♥ out of games
Wait let me get this straight. In another post you mentioned that you hope this game wouldn't be a P2W, but here you are hoping to make money from the game instead?
Kinda selfish requests don't you think. In a world you have to be willing to give if you want to receive something in return. If they were to run a block chain network for this game, it's going to be a really P2W game, since the amount of resources they will need to maintain that.

With the proper design developers would earn a lot without making the game pay-to-win, they can even make it free-to-play and still earn on cosmetic items and some progress-speed-up boosters. P2W means that the game locks you out from the essential things and the progress unless you pay a lot on regular basis. As for the play-to-earn part I really want to see in this game - developers can use such system for more income as well, by issuing NFTs, tokens, and transaction fees, but this will definitely needs to be only in a standalone version of the game outside of Steam.

it better not, blockchain mmos have millions of bots and are insanely p2w with $100k+ mounts. ALL blockchain mmos shouldnt even be tolerated on the steam platform they arent worth the CDN space.

all blockchain mmos are p2w and not your average level of p2w im talking mounts that cost upwards of 100k USD. Anyone wanting it has a head wound.

Not all, some don't even sell equipment and only charge monthly fee to play.

They said that they would decide whether to incorporate blockchain into ArcheAge Chronicles based on the success or failure of ArcheWorld.
