Have you seen Icewind Dale 2 avatars or default portraits?
Out of all the Infinity Engine games, and I haven't checked out Planescape as of late much tbh but I have the rest and currently I'm playing Icewind Dale 2 but, out of all the infinity engine games I think Icewind Dale 2 has some of the best default portraits for the player to pick out of because for one they sort of work two fold:

In the first instance there's the complete picture of the character and then for the UI it uses a 'snapshot' of the frame close to the character's face, which I think is nice because it gives a sort of an intimate bond if you will with your party and on the other hand, two:

The background scenery often associated with the complete pictures themselves, the 'vistas' if you will. They are amazing and fit really well with this RPG setting I think where they simply take my breath away when I look at the portraits basically. (some pictures have this more than others)

This one's a nice example of what I mean: https://i.imgur.com/WEQf8oQ.jpg

Now you know it's kind of either serious or impulsive that I had to stop playing my game and share this with you because every time I gaze upon the profiles or when I'm making a new character when I go through the pictures, scrolling I think I am amazed because to be honest, I haven't seen anything like it in a RPG game.

They're really good.

They also remind me a bit of the old-school head model that was used in for instance a few games from the old times like Wolfenstein 3D basically where you had the player character's face on display often down under at the center of the screen representing sort of character movement through the level and general health, wherein the more damage the player would take, the more beaten up and bruised the model would get and that was kind of funny and to be honest I think I've seen it also in one of the Might and Magic games like 6 or 7 or something but after which,

I had never seen this concept again utilized in games anymore but think that it would be sort of a nice contribution or attribution to the portraits in games like infinity engine games.

Where you could see the degradation of your character more damage they would take but that might be a bit out there and wasn't originally the point of this topic, but okay. In short, nice portraits.
