Google for "Icewind Dale 2 lost source", and read up on the rumors/claims about nobody being in the possession of the game's source code anymore.
i just cant seem to get my copy to work, its the original disc
it loads up, and runs up to the point of character creation
but once i get to choose hair color/and stuff, it crashes.
iam weirded out by gog or any other form of launchers, they all seem sketchy
been steam since it first ever came out. never trusted anything else
i looked at epics Anti-consumer launcher, and just walked away.
yeah i see their store actually functions better than steams mess...
trying to sort things in steams store is damn awful
but GoGs was great, icewind dale 2 was 9.99
poor steam store, 9000 japanese girl games kind of ruined the market
RPG MAKER VX Ace -_-
Regardless, IWD2 (but the whole series) is really awesome. Shhh, kshhht.
Sorry you can't get it to work.
couldnt figure out the websites. old games dont have auto updates.
mine is the original disc version, and i can only make a character up to the color part
then the game crashes at that section.
i found websites with mods, but i dont know how to actually install them
I know older games don't have auto-updates, that's why you need to use google.
Mods usually work by putting them into the installation directory and starting them from within there. (Some mods don't require starting and installing them and just need to be put into a specific spot in the installation directory).
And +2 i would purchase an Enhanced Edition of Icewind dale II!
does the gog version work? cause my disc one did not, it just crashes at character creation.
It breaks my heart. I wanted IWD 2 EE so bad but we'll never get it.
Also I'm considering some GoG myself. I hear they're coming out with an update so you can have all your libraries from all stores on their page. Which is awesome. I forget what games I own with who since every asshat needs their own store now.
