Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition

Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition

The Temple of Elemental Evil (EE)?
I would love to see what Beamdog could do to The Temple of Elemental Evil in an Enhanced Edition version. What do you guys think?

Best D&D game since the IE games.

To be honest a Planescape Torment EE would be terrific. TToEE was okay, but I wouldn't buy it again. But I think, they don't make them soon, perhaps never. We will see. I am eager to buy the new BG game, they produce.
PST EE, IWD 2 EE, TToEE EE just gives us alls of them!
Right? I would pay for them all.
Yep. Those games are like the great movies and books - worth rewatching / rereading /replaying once every few years.

Irony. Gameplay wise TToEE destroyed PS:T, story wise the reverse is true. I prefer gameplay when I'm playing games.
I think that if they're remaking any other classic RPGs, Planescape is probably next in line. Not only would they be able to feed off the hype on InXile's Torment project, but it's also one of those old games that can be problematic to get running on modern systems, so people would be happy to pay just for convenience.

That being said, I would love to see an EE tweaked version of ToEE with increased level cap, added spells, classes and somesuch from more recent DnD rulesets. Not sure if Beamdog owns the appropriate licenses to go through with that though.
I agree with those who say Planescape should be next. I would drop money on that day of release and never regret it. That game was the best there ever was of its genre. But from what I've heard whoever is holding the rights is clinging to them like a drowning man and we are unlikely to see it.

That said, I also +1 the ToEE idea. That game was buggy as heck and that is what continues to make it unplayable. Yes there's an unofficial patch, but even it bugs out. If Beamdog could redo that game and make it not only work, but work well for modern platforms, I'd be on it in a minute.

Sadly, though, that game was made by an entierly different company and I'm not sure once again if they could get the rights.
If you enjoy ToEE than you might like the modded versions done by Circle of Eight. They have extensivily reworked the game over the years to remove bugs and add a great deal of content.

+1 For circle of 8 mod.

And now they are releasing "Keep on the Border Lands" which is pretty much all the ToEE goodness in a whole new story.

Oh God yes. Also IWD2 and Planescape Torment.
no thank you ,definitely not

as far as Icewind Dale 2 is concerned, they said they'd like to but unlike the other EEs, there'd be a lot of work that would need to be done due to the different ruleset.

As of right now, I hope they're focusing all their energy on that Baldur's Gate 1.5 that they're working on. Hopefully it won't be made with the younger generation of gamers in mind but with old school IE game fans.
