Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition vs GoG + Mods?

Which one is overall better, original Icewind Dale + Mods (If any) or Icewind Dale: EE?

for my machine this one would be better, just because the gog version will not start and even hardcrash my pc.

You can get the Enhanced Edition from GOG as well.

As for the original Icewind Dale, unlike the original BG and BG2 it has a hard time running on modern computers and mods don't help that much.

GoG version of games always works flawless for me, i use Windows 7 64 bit

Enhanced is better, you get to use BG2 kits (and the ones added by Beamdog) plus you get the loot function that will save you some time (you click a button and you loot directly instead of clicking all the remains one after the other). Last but not least Enhanced runs perfectly well on modern systems.

This mod adds 5 recruitable NPCs to the game. They come with banter and nice stories so you can create your main character and enjoy some party comments just like in BG2.
