Any way to turn off auto attack on characters?
I have scripted AI to (None). Party AI is turned off. My characters will start attacking a different enemy after the enemy they were attacking first is killed. I wouldn't mind too much for my 2 tanks, but it's kinda annoying for my ranged characters and my mage. If it has to do with the engine, then I'll just try my to bear through it.

AI off and scriptless characters is a recipe for disaster.

You should set the auto pause so that it triggers when an enemy is defeated, instead.

You really didn't answer the question. I don't need auto pause. What I was asking was if there was a way to remove the auto attack on characters or if it's scripted into the engine. If it's scripted into the engine, then I'll just deal with it.

Don't know how it's scripted, but I don't know any way to remove it. One difference, though - characters don't attack if the enemy is out of range for them. So if you have most of your party with ranged weaponry and they started shooting after killing the first bad guy, just lead the enemy further from them, they won't follow and thus stop attacking. Other than this, can't help you.

Also, you can order them to stop current action or just move them a couple of steps, they'll stop attacking.

Thanks for the information Toha. I guess I'm stuck with it and will just have to keep an eye on them.

Auto pause when enemies die would allow you to redirect your characters so that they don't do whatever like you were complaining they were.

But the fact they auto target someone else if in range even without scripts, is just a continuation of the order you gave them, and there's not really any reason for that to be annoying, it's actually helpful. Are you worried about ammo ? lol

Ammo and the fact randomly attacking an enemy isn't always a good idea when certain enemies need to be killed first before the cannon fodder. Another issue is that the character portrait doesn't show them making an attack even though they are. Like Toha has said, it's part of the engine and I'll just deal with it. As for auto pause, I never use it nor do I plan to.

Are you sure the party AI button is ON? The button in the low-right corner of the UI.
