Character Creation
So the other day I spent a couple hrs rolling up some characters, but before clicking on play game because i wasnt ready, I clicked "back" and POOF, all my characters i just rolled up were gone. Sooooo, I am curious, is there a way to create a character one at a time, save it, go play BG1 or exit game or something then come back later and make another IWD character and save and so on until i decide i am ready to play and load them all up in a party?

Only way i noticed is i have to delete the pre-generated characters and make my own. But saw nothing to save them other than accept and play game.

You should be able to export the characters after they're created, and then import them when you're ready to play. Or you can just start the game at any time and save from there to keep them around. IWD allows for character creation at any point during your adventure, so you can start with just one guy and then add more from there at your leisure.

ah ok, that was wierd. I started game ike ya said to just save what i had, but then quit game, and somewhere after that I had that option to generate characters and upload them into the save files. But upon initial start of the game you dont get that option. All good thhough, good to go now thanks for the help.

There should be a "pre-generate character" button in the Singleplayer menu which allows you to make a character then export it one at a time, without starting a new game. I too had this issue and wasted many hours of time by being a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ and hitting the wrong button.

Several things you can do, and some have been mentioned. In addition, you can just roll any old set of characters (make sure they are the classes you want, but don't worry too much about stats). Start game, save game, export each character; then edit each character in Dalekeeper, save, start new game, and import edited characters back into the party. EDIT: I guess now that IWD has been Steamed, we use EE Keeper, instead, and so you do not need to export characters, just save game and then edit the party with EE Keeper.

Dalekeeper (EE Keeper) is easy to abuse; but if you keep your role playing cap on during the editing process, you should do fine. I limit myself to total stats which I have already previously rolled for a character of that type (typically about 94 for DC Fighter/xxxxx), except for DC Fighter/Druid: for that I allow myself (IIRC) 101 points, because, otherwise, I can't have reasonable stats and still DC the fighter over to Druid.
