Breaking down door in general
I am currently playing a solo paladin with 16 strength using a flail/scimitar/sword (all 3 damage type).

I tried to bash down the door and no luck. I am not sure if there is a trick or anything else to help out? It is fairly early in the game and I tried to leave and level up a bit. Then come back and still no luck.

Is there anything beside buffing your strength with buff/potion etc... that help you bash down the door?

Behind the scenes mechanically, you need to roll a 9 or lower on a D20 because of your 16 strength. If the door is stuck, barred, magically closed, you won't be able to open it. You'll need a higher strength to bust it open.

You'll need a high strength which a potion can fix, or you can try to have a mage cast Knock spell on it.

It is the store where a wolf sneak in and the store owner broke the lock door quest. Would be nice to get in and earn the exp and move on. Not fussy about it.

Definitely no stuck/barred/magically closed on that door from what I remember of my non-EE run-through a long time ago.

I tried using all 3 damage type repeatly by f2 or f3 or f4 then click on door. I would have "you failed to bash the door in." message spam long enough to fill 5 screen from top to bottom.

Try pick lock with a thief, or have a mage learn Knock and cast the spell on the door. Have all your characters try breaking the door down.

I went back to character creation and raised my solo paladin up to 18/04. Tried to bash and got it in one try. >>

Oh well I got two more stat point to allocate than the last paladin. So worked out well.

I know what I typed. It was intentional. There are other ways to get around a problem even if playing solo.

How would he use a thief skill or mage spell as a solo paladin?
