You can buy it on gog.com though and if you want to use it on steam, steam has an option to let you start any game through steam
Any reason for not registering there?
Here is a collection of mods/patches that make it run perfect on new widescreen computers. I tried to upload it to ModDB but it didn't work for whatever reason. All of them combined smooths out the framerate (for me, it was abysmal before the Wine3D3 emulation), supports widescreen resolutions, and of course CDtweaks. I tested it with my CD version and it works superbly on Windows 8.1 (AMD)(1600x900)
It took me two days to find out what works and what doesn't, through many sites on the internet and have finally found the correct combination. I can't tell you enough how annoying it was but here it is!
P.S. GOG isn't bad imo, but I wouldn't recommend posting your pirating habits on Steam as that will get you banned pretty quickly.
Why Icewind Dale 2 isn't on Steam isn't known I think.
