Huh, instant crash on loading save-game on Ubuntu 18.04, just like in the beta. I had hoped that issue would be fixed by now. :-(

@Feist Did you report that crash during the beta?
Is it crashing only on loading a save?
What about a new game?

No, I admit I did not make a report earlier since I played through the entire game as well as HoW and Trials of the luremaster when the beta first became availble. It was only when I tested the game after a big update to the beta was released weeks later, that the problem started. So, obviously it's not really a priority item for me until a few years more have passed and I want another replay.

It crashes immidiatly when pressing load of a save-game, same thing when starting a new game directly after the sequence with "Our journey begins in....".

This was tested with Ubuntu 16.04, 17.10 and now latest with "Ubuntu Mate 18.04". First with AMD FX 4100 cpu and now with Ryzen 5 1600 cpu, using nvidia 960 and latest stable 390 as well as 396 drivers.

I would really appreciate if you file a bug report on support.baldursgate.com.

Hi, I'm having the same issue as the poster above.

I'm on Ubuntu 17.10, starting a new game or loading any save game from the 1.4 patch causes an immediate crash to desktop.

Ubuntu 17.10
i7 4790k
Fury X with open source (mesa) drivers
16 gb RAM

Same issue here, seems to be a Linux bug. I'm running Gentoo Linux with a 4.15.12 kernel. Immediate crash to desktop when trying to load a save. Does the game make any log file I can check (I didn't find any in ~/.local/share/ or the steamapps folder)?

This is very unfortunate.

Please, attach any logs you can to the bug ticket:

How do you search for specific bug reports? For example I want to find bug #34385 but if I do a search at https://support.baldursgate.com/projects for 34385 I get no results???
Julius Borisov  [developer] May 2, 2018 @ 2:48am
Hey, 34385 is an internal bug ticket.
Usually you can search for phrases, but not all internal tickets have corresponding public tickets.

I'd love to, but I can't find any logs. Where does the game write them? Searching for 'icewind*' on the computer doesn't return any logs, and I can't find any in ~/.local/share/Icewind\ Dale\ Enhanced\ Edition nor in the steamapps folder.
Trying to run the game from command line returns an error about missing libraries, and running it as 'steam --applaunch id' doesn't launch the game at all (no errors).

Depends on the Linux distribution. When we've investigated before - it usually requires a backtrace or core dump.

Ubuntu, for example, uses Apport - https://askubuntu.com/questions/346953/how-to-read-and-use-crash-reports

It would also be really helpful for you to say which store and how you launch the game in case that is relevant (i.e. desktop shortcut, terminal, Steam client)

Sadly the crashes on Linux keep happending for me.
