Q about level cap or exp cap
I finished Baldur's Gate EE 1&2. I noticed there was a exp cap on that game. Getting this one too. Does the game have exp/level caps?

yes, level cap is 30,exp is depending on the class. for example my bard reached lvl 30 and dont get exp anymore, the others are still leveling. not sure about multiclass

There's an experience cap of 8 million xp. Different classes require different amounts of xp to level, so the maximum level depends on your class, and whether you dual or multi class.

Ok, I did some googling, and it appears we are both correct. This is what I initially read from the game's manual:

In the standard campaign for Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition, no character may attain more than 8,000,000 experience points. When deciding the level at which to dual-class your character, be sure to keep in mind the experience cap. It will limit how your character advances before the end of the game.

However, I've read that there is also a level cap of 30, which all single class characters will reach before hitting the experience cap. I've read mixed messages about what level multi-class characters will be able to reach, I'd have to find out when I get near there myself.

Note that if choosing the lower difficulty modes, the base game doesn't offer enough XP as to reach high levels. Within the base game up to the final fight, you may expect less than two million XP per character for a full party.

If you want to, you can export your characters in baldurs gate, copy their files around and import them into icewind dale. but the game would become easy as you start at a high level.

As of 1.4.0 the game had an effective level cap of 30 per class, with exp cap being tied to level cap. Meaning you can get 30 lvl single class, 30/30 double multiclass, 30/30/30 triple multiclass. And no 8kk exp cap to hold dualclasses back. Not sure if it got changed.
