You kill stuff, complete quests and level up.
It's been like this since the early 80ies.
Things that improve when you level:
Thaco:(basicly accuracy/hitrating)
Hitpoints
armor class(some classes and kits only)
spellslots
special abilities if you have a class that has them
thieving skills,
weapon profiencies(allows you to upgrade skill in certain weapons)
new spell selections(priests and druids automaticly gain new spells every few levels,Sorcerers have to pick manually and mages have to learn them from scrolls.
I'm probably forgetting some things but this is the gist of it, every class is unique and gains stuff at a different rate.
If you use a kit then you can click on kit description in the stats screen to check at what levels you gain all your special abilities.
The attribute points will never improve naturally so you have to think a bit and have a role for them in mind when creating your characters.
Whenever you get a plus sign there should be a level up button in your stat screen.
You can use eekeeper for both Baldur's gate ee and Icewind dale ee.
The problem I have, even with the PDF manuals, is they do not explain what "Proficiency Slots" are (and how you get them), nor "Skills" that appear above the selections. Most times both = 0.
Just want more detail on how Level Up works.
