if you finish the enhanced edition, can you use the savegames for icewindtale2?

I own both, now someone gifted the first part to me, but an enhanced version, I totally forgot about the differences. Wonder if Baldurs gate hadn't some rule changes over its lifespan

It had rulechanges but they were minor and basically the rules system simply got expanded. Icewind Dale 2 on the other hand uses 3rd Edition D&D while Icewind Dale 1 uses 2nd Edition. That is a huge change and I'm pretty sure those 2 don't go together even with modding. Besides that in IWD2 you start on Level 1 and since IWD1 isn't story driven there's no real point to try to import your savegames even if it was possible.

If you plan to make another IWD1 run I recommend checking out Beamdog Forum...some dude named sarevok57 or something just released a superhuge mod changing AI and music and whatnot

sarevok ha, can't trust this name :D played once with big world project, I don't know, mods are really awesome but they need so much testing and balancing, and those games take weeks to finish and I don't want to realize in the middle of the game, that I'm ♥♥♥♥♥♥.
