Is fragile glass worth it?
I've been running fragile glass for about 6 hours, and haven't beat it yet. is it worth it?

500 is still my best run
Janik Dec 5, 2024 @ 9:50pm
the chance to finish it should be a simple case of not hitting the 1% chance in 600.
thats an avg of it happening 6 times, so you basically gotta hit a 1 in 3600,
not bad odds, but since every attempt takes a while. it can end up taking forever.

Its must have for progres. Both, challenge and new automation upgrades helps alot as it make revolution prestiging viable option.

And you can savescum them. I did all 5 in less than hour.

I have other post about it with some info, so check it. https://steamcommunity.com/app/3217600/discussions/0/4625856213666503160/

thanks for the headsup, the savescumming really makes it doable

This maths is nonsensical and very wrong.

The correct maths is that you have to dodge 600 1% chances, so there's a (99/100)^600 chance of being successful, which is about 1 in 415.8. Or in other words, you'd expect to see it reset ~415 times before a success on the first tier of the challenge (if you're not savescumming).

The odds of a successful run on the FIRST level, of which you the player can do nothing to influence aside from upgrading intero, is 0.2405%. Probably not very worth it, unless you plan on having the challenge running while you're away for hours. Even still probably won't be successful. Let's say you get intero down to 1.5 seconds, which would be up to 15 minutes for a success, meaning depending on luck the challenge can take anywhere from 15 minutes to 100+ hours. And we all know that statistics don't mean a guarantee after a set amount of rolls, so even then it can take a lot long under those circumstances. Not good, challenge needs to be altered. If anything, the glass breaking chance should decrease every time much like how chaos upgrade success chance increases after every failure

just do as the other guy said, savescum, takes the time down to less than an hour per challenge

No savescumming or other means neccesary.

I play normal without savescumming. I even turn off my computer over nigth.

I am in the last (5th) glass challenge. My max is 961 for now.

So, doable and it even do not take this long.

sorry but that is the dumbest thing i heard.

you wasting hours of offlinespeedup doesnt make it doable. in no way you think that makes sense.
the guy litterally did the math.
its a pure rngfest trying to waste your time.

it has to be altered to be less rng heavy each break or its totally ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
if you dont savescum it you potentially waste thousand of hours for all 5 completions, which are even usefull upgrades.

if you serious are thinking it didnt take long and not wasting offlinetime, you wasted all your luck in this game, stay carefull around bananas and dont slip.

But here's the thing about life and RNG heavy things in games, even though you are highly lucky, there is somebody (maybe me) who is the total opposite.

I am not in the rush

I can not do other challenges (all done)

This challenge do not modify the base progression of the game.

So why not wait? An yes, I do not doubt the math. Maybe I am lucky.

But, as it is, this is an idle game. I let run it now mostly in the background. Nothing much to do now. Only look from time to time to spend things on things.

But I am nearing homeostasis. Lets see if I am then a little more in action again.

I meant no disrespect. For me, without saving, it would reset below 50 glass very often. As for the challenge doesn't modify the base progression of the game, it actually makes it way easier to reach Homeostasis because it allows Special upgrades to not reset upon prestiging.

Anyway, i'm glad that you are close to Homeostasis. It is a loooooong grind hahaha.

you farm some offline time.
you start the challenge and let your bars upgrade and stuff to get max glass per secound you can easily reach.

you save.
you use offline time to make it go fast.
each 50 or 100 or more, depending how much risk you wanne take. you stop offline time and save in another slot.
if it breaks you reload
next step you decide you save again in not the latest slot

repeat and reload if needed until its done. with that you can do all 5 challenges in like 30 minutes. probally need like 5 to 10 minutes offline time overall.

I did it without offline time and it went by decently fast with saving. I saved every 15 glass and made 2 manual saves just in case I accidentally saved the second it reset. The only issue I had with the saving was when the game crashed at random when you load.
