MODO indie 901

MODO indie 901

Restore Default Settings??
How in the world do I restore the default settings?

I tried to make navigation easier by mapping things to my middle mouse button and I just ended up making things worse because the camera locks in place when I have anything selected most of the time. I tried to map it back to normal myself and now it just spins out of control. My ALT+right click does nothing at all either and I never touched the setting for that button.

I did the whole open User Folder and deleted the MODOINDIE802 file while Modo is closed, but that did nothing. Nothing is in the Configs folder either.

I love MODO Indie, but is there not a button to restore defaults? It's pretty much one of the most standard features of any software made in the last decade, but not MODO? Wha...?

Deleting the config while modo is closed and relaunching should have definitely corrected any changes you have made. Is there a possiblilty there is some kind of change to the middle mouse mapping in mouse or tablet software? It's got to be getting the remapping info from somewhere and without the config file it should be reset to default. Sorry to ask but if you can try shutting modo down, deleting the config file again and relaunching I think something is missing in that step because it should reset all default settings back to factory. If it doesn't work, delete local files in steam and navigate to the directory where indie is located and delete the indie folder as well and reinstall.

Thanks, but still having issue.
Deleted file while MODO was closed. No change. The file is recreated when you enter and exit modo. Did this several times.
deleted config file again then deleted local files and reinstalled. No change.

I tried to remap to the original settings myself and now it's making me hold shift+left click to rotate the camera even though I set it to alt+left click. Alt just locks it. It's a mess...
I'll look at the mouse software itself in the morning, but my mouse is functioning like normal. I also have a Cintiq so I'll look if that's messing with stuff too, although I don't know what to look for.

This is probably Steam Cloud restoring your settings file every time. Try disabling it from Modo Inide's Properties page in the Steam client.

Ha! It worked!

I deleted the config file, turned off the cloud, deleted the local files, reinstalled and there we go; it's back to normal.
I'm kind of afraid to turn the cloud back on now, but I'll try that at another date.

Thanks, guys
