Scenario Editor tutorial?
The scenario editor is the weirdest thing I ever did see. Just for example...

How do you add new bases?
How do you add aircraft to bases without having to put them in flight then "run" the editor until they land? That's so silly.
Why does the editor have to run, anyhow? That's silly. I am editing, not playing.

Finally, most importantly, why is there no tutorial for the editor?

I am used to Harpoon, for years, and its scenario editor was great. This, I don't know what to say. Makes no sense at all.

1. First ensure you've added a side to the scenario, go to Editor->Add/Edit sides. Then to add an airbase, press control and right click the mouse on the location you wish to add the base. Then search for "Single Unit Airfield" you would be best to pick one of the ones with 4000m+ Runways to ensure all aircraft can use it.

2. Once you've added the airbase (or other unit which supports aircraft) select that and go to Editor->Edit Aircraft. This will bring up a dialog which allows you to add aircraft, you can chose a callsign and number of aircraft.

3. The editor allows you to make a scenario that you can then release so others can play. Alternatively it just allows you to sandbox and play around with various units.

4. Check our the warfaresims.com site, there is plenty of documentation there and also the forums which are a great help!.

hope this helps.

Cygon_Parrot, in addition, please read chapters 7 and 8 of the included manual....they are a great help to further understanding the basics of editing your scenario. The manual is included as a pdf file so you can view on other mediums, should you need it in another window.

Thanks guys, I am well on the way now. Still having some trouble with events and triggers, but I know I'll get that sorted myself. It just took a bit of getting used to the weird interface. Just one thing; I had tried to access the manual before, from the link on the start up, but it wasn't opening. I set the default PDF reader to MS Edge, and then it did open. Something wrong with my adobe reader installation, perhaps, and it is not important to the game discussion.

TY!

Out of curiosity: Which parts of the user interface do you consider wierd or otherwise uncomfortable?

Not picking a fight or anything; we're constantly trying to improve our interface to match how our customers use the game.

Also, on scenario editing in general: There have a been a lot of additions since the v1.00 release, and these are not yet listed on the print-version manual. To familiarize with these new capabilities, please read the "Scenario Editing" page of the Manual Additions section on the WarfareSims site.[www.warfaresims.com]

Thanks.

Thank you, I do not think for an instant anyone is picking a fight and why you ask is clear.

The awkwardness of mine stems mainly from a long time usage of Harpoon. I expect a great many Harpoon users have graduated to CMANO, also, as it is a bit of a natural progression. The main reason for my posting was to get some help to learn the sim "as is", which I am doing with yours and others help right here, plus the excellent guidance to the best sources to continue learning. No worries, I'll certainly get used to it, and thank you for the invitation to give some feed back, but I honestly think I am still way too new to the game to contribute anything valid yet, and apologies for any misunderstanding.
