Confused by cargo unload

I am confused about to how to conduct paradrops and beach landings. I thought there was supposed to be a unit action command to unload cargo and if I had paradrop capable units they would make an airborne drop. I had 4 IL 76 transports loaded with 500 paratroops, but could not find any way to order them to jump over the drop zone. So I set up a cargo mission, but only one plane dropped, the other 3 just milled around until I finally ordered them RTB. I never got around to trying to make an amphib landing from my hovercraft because they all got sunk by artillery, but I think I would have had the same problem.

Hi danb,

There is the possibility that the 3 aircraft that couldn't drop were loaded with a cargo loadout that wasn't capable of being paradropped.

I was playing the Okinawa scen in Chains of War, they were loaded with the cargo at their home base which should have been paradrop capable. I'll watch that video again, but the first time I watched it I thought there was a command to manually unload without using a mission, but I couldn't find it. Do you have to select each plane to unload individually, because I had the four planes in a group?

Watched the video again, and a command appeared at the bottom of the unit actions menu, to unload cargo. This never appeared. I tried starting a new blank scenario, loaded some IL 76's with paratroops and no unload command appears in the unit actions menu like it did in the video.

You have to enable the "cargo ops" feature for the new scenario you are building (Editor --> Scenario Features)

I did that. I did make a succesful paradrop using the cargo mission, but there is no unit command to do so manually, despite the fact that it was there in Baloogan's video. Different software version?
