How so? Existing CMANO customers can still download it from Steam. It is simply not being made available for new purchase.
Does Microsoft (not re-sellers) sell Windows 7 right now? Are new features being added to it, other than security patches? (And the latter will end soon too).
There is no requirement to upgrade to CMO and you can continue to play Command for ever. Any suggestion to the contrary is a misunderstanding. However you obviously wont get all the new content that is created for CMO. It is probably clear why it would be impossible for anyone to just keep a game update for free and get nothing out of it, if they want to feed the kids!
True indeed, but what about some update packs for CMANO, not for free ?(not technical issues but DB update).Think about that.
If a scenario in the future is made with CMO, it will be playable only in CMO.
If the scenario has been originally made in CMANO, but then edited in CMO to enhance it with the new features and then saved, it will again be playable only in CMO.
Only scenarios originally created in CMANO and never "touched by" CMO will remain playable in CMANO.
In my opinion, to keep CMANO alive, you should at least just continue updating the database of CMANO.
Do you guys both also still use Windows 7? have you posted your opinion to Microsoft on how to keep Win7 alive, and that it's not fair for the company to stop support eventually?
C:MANO is at it's end of life. That's pretty normal for games and software in general. The devs have no obligation to continue to support a game into perpetuity just because you feel slighted that they aren't. The devs are being kind, in my opinion, to keep updating the base game with engine updates. Crying about no new database updates is just ridiculous gamer entitlement.
I would suggest, that if you want to keep using C:MANO that you send the devs some money to continue support. Dev hours aren't free you know.
