Game not running?

I double click the game to play it and while it says I have played it, a window doesn't even appear. So nothing actually is happening when I double click. I'm not having the same issue with the second game, just this first one

Fix confirmed. To be clear for others: you need to both download the update through Steam (should happen automatically) *and* reboot Steam in order for this to work.

I just upgraded to windows 10 and lost access to my midnight mystery game. I am a big edgar allan poe fan and love playing this game is there some update i need to be able to play again or is this game just lost to me forever?????????????????

I am using windows 10, and I cannot get the game to launch. my screen resolution goes all wonky and the game gives me a white background with a windows loading icon. the game never loads and I have to use task manager to quit. Can anyone help?

trying to get the game to work on windows 8.1, i'm getting the error that everyone else was getting before, all the other games in the series work but this one. anyone know how to fix???

try running the game as admin, go to where the game is at in the steam folder. it worked for me.

Anyone have an idea that might help me? I just got the game on Windows 10. It ran the first time with compatability set to Windows 7, but after the first time playing it won't start again. I get the white screen with black borders on the left and right and the swirling wait symbol that never goes away.

Today is DEC 2, 2019. I bought the Midnight Mysteries Trilogy on disc. Installed yesterday, the 2nd and 3rd games worked fine. Midnight Mysteries - The Edgar Allan Poe Conspiracy would not load. I had a thought, I downloaded the demo from BigFish. Installed the game. My time ran out, so I uninstalled the demo from BigFish. I had a "wild crazy idea". I clicked on my game icon and it works just fine now. I not know what rid the system of the error, but i just finished the game and no problems,at all. Also noticed in my search for an anwser, in 6 years, there has not been one answer only questions of HOW to fix the game. my 2 cents.

It only seem to be running from the desk top icon, not from steam.
