Not dropping cards for me.

Anyone getting or NOT getting cards from this game?

They dropped for me. And I've just checked the market, there seem to be cards for trade.

If I get further confirmation that there is a problem then I'll open a ticket to Valve (because as far as I am involved everything is set up as released and enabled)... so let me know if anyone else is having the same issue.

A quick web search gave me these infos:

Over on reddit some users had success in solving this problem with changing their beta client participation. (Either from in to out or from out to in, both were mentioned successful for some users.) Might want to try it out, if you're having problems. (from: THIS THREAD <- maybe try posting there too for more information)

And that refunding a game seems to lock trading card drops to ~2hours ...

Thanks for the info, I'll look into it. Never had a refund, but it could be something else on my end.

How come it shows no card drops after opting in and out of beta? I haven't even started playing the game....

The game is now free so that seems to change a few things.
The trading cards are out of my control so I can only guess that free games get different treatment. I was told to add a donation DLC and that might grant access to these features again.

Can you find other free games that drop cards?

Actually yes, it just so happens I have had played previous free games that dropped cards for me:

This:

...neither of which requires donation DLC to make it work....

The information I have is that a 9$ DLC enables 1 card drop and I have no say on how Steam deals with it's values and those 'exceptions'.

Feel free to contact support on your behalf and let me know if I'm wrong.

Not dropping cards for me even though game is free and not free to play. It seems someone outsmarted the developer. We will change the text from Free to play to Free ...
Even The descendant and Grimm drop trading cards.

Hey you're right, these also work too and they're free to play as well!

Okay what's going on James? I bet you're hiding something from us and not telling us the whole story.......hah....

Or maybe you just simply don't want people to idle your game and not play and enjoy the game for what it is, instead of just clocking up the hrs for the cards and off they go onto a different game, mmm?

I bet that's it! Either that or you just want to force us to *donate* (hence you at least get something out of a free game) for the cards to drop when in fact you can get the card to drop without any donations of sorts, as you can see with the other four games as proof!

They *might* use a 'glitch/exploit' to enable it *maybe* to generate extra revenue from the trading. However it's not how the system is ment to work as far as I could get official statements.

So I won't bother to dig into it deeper since I have very limited power supply (80W Solar) and other things to worry about atm.

Unless people are selling in the millions or more(or if the card artwork/emotes/backgrounds are actually decent which means they would sell better and of at a higher price too which means steam and the game devs would get more than one or two cents off these....), one or two cents a card isn't going to help pay your bills.....for the equipment that was used to make the game....

Are you living frugally by the way?

I don't know if it is so. Maybe they have a special deal but it's all just assumptions.

Point is that it's steam's 'thing' so if you think it is not behaving as intended then you can contact steam support. I'm fine with them beeing free. And let me know if I'm wrong!
