Update 13 Changelog

- Added a total of 40 new Roomlayouts. This increases the amount of regular room layouts by 100%! These are "alternate versions" of previous layouts to add more gameplay variety.
- Revamped the Trinkets menu to make it better, and easier to use. The Trinket Manager was removed.
- Overhauled the Character Menu. Color schemes can be scrolled through easier, colors get marked with a Heptagram when favorited, favorite color schemes cannot be sold anymore (unfavorite them and you can sell them), sold color schemes can be brought back with a new "undo" button.
- Added a total of 23 new memories to unlock
- Added new Totem: Tanto - increases melee damage (by 50%) and range (by 100%)
- Added Shotgun Crit Chance weapon mod
- Added a subtle animation to the HUD to show which room color is currently the priority
- Added a few new hints to the loading screen and changed a few old ones
- Added and changed a few quit screen messages
- Fixed infinite reload glitch
- Fixed misplaced items
- Fixed play menu not showing difficult icon correctly after returning from a game
- Increased volume of empty weapon clicking sound


:heptagram:UPDATE LOG for additional changes from 12.5:heptagram:

- Player acceleration reduced by 33% while walking to make controls feel less floaty. It's still the same when sprinting.
- Pistol muzzle flash size reduced by 33%
- Improved network reliability for reloading
- Improved player netcode update priority in laggy games (now they have top priority)
- Various changes to enemies and items regarding netcode to optimize the network load during multiplayer (cull distance and update frequency changed)
- Salem Servants' torches now go out completely when they die (no afterglow)
- Optional doors are now locked only 33% of the time, down from 50%
- Elevator button should now show up for all players at all distances when all objectives are complete
- Added an icon next to the difficulty selection that represents what you've chosen
- Server list now has red challenge text when host has challenge active
- Improved visuals of the resurrection sphere
- Fixed greyed out Ring Trinket slot when low level Ring is equipped
- Server list now displays area size instead of room number
- Pointing out an object now lasts 10 sec up from 7
- Made Demon Speed effect a little bit more visible
- Rotten Butcher fireball damage increased by 50%
- Rotten Doctor fireball damage increased by 20%
- Tweaked fireball visuals

Why do Abyss Chests only give 36 abyss coins, 13 fragments and 65 karma when broken now? This is a MASSIVE reduction from the previous 77 abyss coins, 351 fragments and 1911 karma, and isn't reflected in the UI which still has their old values. Is this a bug?

Demon Chests also have their rewards significantly reduced from 324 fragments, 1764 karma to 54 fragments, 294 karma, though they still retain their previous 7 abyss coins. This one has the change reflected in the new UI, so it's likely intended, but this is still a significant nerf that isn't documented in the patch notes.

One more issue, the game can now sometimes crash when doing many upgrades on trinkets, in particular when upgrading rings.

Not so glad I held onto my chests... especially since I still have a lot of rings and Rank 4 gear that I haven't upgraded yet...

This is an oversight. Thanks for pointing it out. I will fix it tomorrow. Haven't eaten yet today and I want to make a chicken curry now.

My memory might be blurry but is it intended that the Shotgun upgrade pool includes Crit Chance? I thought only Pistol can get that bonus.

With al these new room layouts, maybe it is time for new Theme?

Obviously, that would require making a lot of new layouts from scratch, making their variants and many new models, textures and other assets.

Some Theme ideas:
- SCHOOL: You will learn more about madness than you ever wanted to know.
(Familiar environment in horrific context is always nice.)
- CASTLE: Classic horror environment. Oozes sinister heaviness, sturdiness and stone. Mixes large spaces like dinner halls or throne rooms with cramped corridors of prison cells.
(Most different from other themes visually.)
- MALL: Endless capitalism morphs into endless horror. Buy blood, pay with your very own soul.
(I imagine for this one all layouts would be two-floor, some of them with corridor in middle, others being recognizable as inside of "shops". A lot of unsettling mannequins, please.)

Wait, what the hell is a Ruby Chest? First time playing after the update, I found what looked like a Demon Chest, opened it, and instead of getting a Demon Chest I picked up what the game said was a Ruby Chest and obtained 100 rubies instead.

Oh, right, I hadn't played Unearthly in a long time (forgot that it was technically the level I was up to since it's easier to farm Demon Chests on Beast) and I'm pretty sure I'd never seen one before now.

Just a question, did you happen to change the way the camera works? It's been a minute since I last played, but for some reason the camera feels weird. Like there's slightly more latency? Maybe I'm imagining it but it feels weird and I can't put my finger on it.

I'm seconding this. I immediately noticed this as soon as I hopped into a game. It almost feels like something with the game's default FOV has been tweaked. Even though I have the same FOV that I always use, it feels very different. It's very hard to put my finger on what's different, but it honestly feels like I'm drunk or getting motion sickness while playing. When I get a chance, I'm going to compare to footage that I have prior to this update.

Truth be told, it's impossible to tell. It's more of a psychological boost rather than something I consciously notice. I think Pistol has a different sound for Critical Hits? With the Shotgun I don't even know if/when I do critical damage. Also when I see +1% Crit Chance... it doesn't feel very significant.

By the way, this is completely off-topic but I have to ask. What happens when you press the "reset" button on the profile selection? I wanted to delete some temp profiles I have but - considering Unloved doesn't have a confirmation window - I'm afraid I'm gonna accidentally delete my main character.
