Installation Troubleshooting

In the case that the game cannot be started or Steam doesn't install the VS Redistributables correctly, please try the following:

1. Manually download and install DirectX from here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109

2. Install Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x86) https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5555 . On 64bit Windows also install Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x64) https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=14632

3. Install Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2012 https://www.microsoft.com/en-nz/download/details.aspx?id=30679 . On 32bit Windows install vcredist_x86.exe. On 64bit Windows install both vcredist_x86.exe and vcredist_x64.exe.

4. Install Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2015 https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145 . On 32bit Windows install vcredist_x86.exe. On 64bit Windows install both vcredist_x86.exe and vcredist_x64.exe.

If that workaround does not work, please also try the following:

Make sure your computer is up to date and has the latest Service Packs.
- Navigate to Start> Control Panel> System and Security
- Under the Windows Update heading, select Check for updates
- Install any updates.

Make sure you are running as an Administrator on your computer.
- Navigate to Start> Control Panel> User Accounts> User Accounts
- Select Manage User Accounts
- If you are an Administrator, Administrators will be listed beside your username under Group

Make sure you have read/write access to the selected install path.
- Navigate to your selected install location
- Right-click and select Properties
- Select the Security tab
- Select your username in the Group or user names box
- Verify that there is a check under Allow beside both Read and Write in the Permissions box

I finally got this to work! When I tried to start my game it said I had to instal C++ 2015 and asked if I wanted to install it by my install would freeze close to the end or at the very end.

First I had to update Microsft .Net Framework to 4.6: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48130

After restarting my computer that I fixed issues with C++ 2015 x86 and x64 in that order, the links are on this page already. They were apparently downloaded but would stop the process and either time out or stop progressing no mater how long I waited.

Hope this helps anyone in the same boat that I was.

I followed all the instructions and unfortunately was not able to play the game, which is a bummer since the little I played I enjoyed so much..
