if you are trying to add an DiRT3 save data to this version , you can forget that , it's not compatible with each other.

are you sure of that? Saves from new version have same name except for savegame@profile0# in front of it

Yes i am sure of that.

Justbiglee sayed it to: Due to the differences with the two versions unfortunately your save files will not be compatible with each other. We know it sucks and we are sorry but it was unavoidable.

If you are not believe , try it and you will see the new version will just ignore the old save data and replace it with new one.

Yup. Not compatible.
Indeed I tried, renamed old save with "savegame@profile0#" in front of it... save game actually appears with number of races, name etc... but wont load.
Bah, I start over .. no choice.

If you rename the files according to the new name system, your old profile will show up at the start and also display the correct number of races. Unfortunately it does not actually load from the savegame but always returns to that screen. Given the similarities of the savegames I highly doubt that they have completely rewritten the way the saves work, so I have still hope that there is a way to convert them.

There is no way to "convert" old saves to new version. It's just because old saves are containing too much data specificly connected to GFWL, which are incompatible with Steamworks, so they cannot be easily transferred from old format to new one (and it doesn't matter that files have same names - most important thing is what's inside of them, and differences between specifications of old and new save files).

So deal with it, and to old saves say bye-bye,
if you want to play DiRT 3 with Steam online.
