Turn off mic?

I wanted to play and talk with some friends but apparently theres no way to disable your mic in the game. So either we talk with the whole server, or we cant talk at all (unplugging our mics). It's kind of a pain for me because my only mic port is in the back of my pc so i need to pull the whole pc out to unplug the mic. (Ik first world problems but still)

How about disabling it from steam settings or kill its volume, from the same place?

You just have to unplug it

While in the lobby under voice chat you can mute everyone else except your friends problem solved. The other options are skype, teamspeak and you mute the whole lobby.

hmm, how about disabling the mic from control panel? or set in the game, mic option = disabled

There is no option to turn off the mic in the game

there's, by using a dummy mic slot (from control panel, usually injected by a program)

You can't lower it more than 50%
