Complete Challenge 4 to unlock the giant asteroid, hold to click, then sacrifice half of your resources to gain a boost in speed. Do this every ten minutes (or however long you desire), and you win.
Literally, Water becomes the most valuable and efficient resource as far as speed goes. I got sick of aluminum and decided it wasn't worth it. I'm literally gaining billions of units of water every second, and sacrificing water costs nothing. This tactic is leagues more fruitful if you have a mouse macro to trigger a click every .25ms or so.
