The game on playstation was a port from the original PC version.
yup its true, and it was a reduced price game when it was new. I loved it back in the day, great game....devs these days could learn alot from games like this....instead of making stale bland boring bad gauntlet 2014.
The most obvious difference is that the PS1 version was joypad controlled, while the PC version has a Diablo-style click-to-move click-to-attack interface and no joypad support.
The other major difference is that the PS1 version had a single player-character, while the PC version has you running around with a second character tagging along. You can swap between them at any time, with the AI controlling whichever character you're not controlling.
Beyond that, there are plenty of other more minor differences: changes to the world layout, changes to the way quests are given, changes to what skills can be learned by what character ckasses, etc etc.
In general, the PC version has more features and the PS1 version was a "streamlined" port. The overall game is essentially the same, though, so which version you prefer will probably come down to whether you prefer mouse or joypad controls for this sort of game.
Although I would much rather use a keyboard and mouse this is why I will just stick with the playstation version. It can at least show up across my whole tv
