2 times you overpayed :) 1 time you bought it cheaper
game auctions are like real life auctions

sometimes you can buy car cheaper, sometimes more expensive that its real value
its up to you to bid more or pass ...

It seems there is always a possibilty of overpaying for a car which i guess does happen in reality, i'd like to see a larger under spend on cars so you can feel as though you got an amazing deal :0

69k was not a very good deal lol

My advice is to auction all cars available and repair them at 100% condition. U get a reference price from wich u substract the repair cost.
Considering that GTR is sold 76K at 100%, a good price is around under 45K I guess.
Never forget to let AI win when price goes to high.

At 100%
- Reptilia : 57K
- Picallo : 33K
- Flamo : 34K

Im on others car and keep it updated here :)

I have my 1st GTS at 35K with 2 star state.

Royale GTR sold 91796 $ at 100% restore

I guess I have sold it 99 / 100 ... small things cost a lot :) A reptilia with 2 80% silent block and 1 85% disc brake is only 37 k .... To 57K full 100%

I have seen so many of these Royale GTR's in the auctions, yet the auto ai bidding is rediculous. This is a game, lets us get some deals here.....doesn't matter what they start at, its roughly $50K or more each just from auto bidding. Same with the other cars. It is easy to make money, that isn't the problem, but there is no "score!" from any auction. Very linear. Auto bidding needs to be revised. Three star M8 that starts at $7900 automatically goes to $40k on its own before I even start bidding....thats just a flawed auction mechanic.

What is really a fun aspect is not knowing which cars are in the line up each time. That's a nice touch, but the pre-set selling prices just blow it all. Many people post how the auctions are real....but not every real life auction sells the same cars for the same prices. There are screaming deals sometimes.

as a real life car dealer i can confirm you can really loose your rear if your not carefull at the auction, you dont make your money selling the cars you make your money when you buy them, if you overpay for a car then you dont have room for repairs making the end product sale for less than your investment.

If your concerned with it, you can try this, get a note pad and pen, get enough money to get a car for about 7,000 to 15,000. Make sure you have at lest enough to fall back on. So your looking at about 30,000 as a safe spot. Then when you get the car, write down what you bought it for. Then do your build, I believe the parts cost will be in the work order totaled when done. It should be, if not then I guess you write down the cost yourself, but I believe to total should be listed.

Then add what you bought the car for and the total cost of all the parts that was bought to restore the car. Then subtract that from the resale total. The final number will be what you made for a profit. So if it comes down to 12,000 for example and you got the car for 7,000 and spent 3,000 in parts and the total is 10,000. well you got you money back and only made a 2,000 profit of the car in sales.

So the question is, was it worth the bother for you. Now if the investment was more and your profit was less, then you are looseing money.

When you at the auction, don't start bidding yet, look at the car and price and your own money your willing to spend vs the extra were you can fall back on. Let the AI bids take place, don't race the bid, see were it is going. I let the time almost roll out and then bid, by this time the AI bid is coming to a stop, If I am willing to take the car at 10,000. And that AI bid pushes it one more dollar, I passed on it. And wait to see what else is there..

If there is all high dollar cars, then leave and go back another time. Just because you were there it dosen't mean you have to buy it. Once you get a car, Make sure you have enough for the build, if not, leave it in the gargage and take some jobs. The build can wait till your ready. Its not going anywere.

never go over the value of the car, mainly if you can't get a profit.

I hope this helps..

How do we know car value BEFORE auction. There is absolutely no help in saying to someone that you overpaid. You only know you have overpaid AFTER puchase, which is completely useless.

You are also implying that the auction ai continually overpays on cars, why?

In real life, if someone really wants something, then they may pay over the price to get it.

As a general rule, look to spend around about half of what the car sells for in 100% condition (using the list above as a guide).
