How to find the money?

I'm not sure how I can get money inside of the Joy filled areas for the shops. I see that i can sell some of the items i have but I usually would prefer to keep those, and even if i sold them all, I still couldn't afford something like a pipe valve that wants 50. what are you supposed to do for income?

In the first areas you could jimmy bar open the coin boxes in pay phones usually for a half dozen coins. Depending on your looting habits you can probably afford to sell off some excess things as well. Cloth and Linen don't seem to have that much use in the quanities you find them. Metal bits are probably always useful so I wouldn't sell those.

Hmm interesting, what are the best ways to farm jimmy bars? and also i noticed almost all items have a metal bit value. how do you convert items into metal bits? And would you mind telling me where a good crafting station is? i found one once but didn't keep note of it in my map

You can sell only a few things like duct tape for money at 2 each.
You get jimmy bars by crafting metal bits which are plentiful and numerous.
Crafting stations can be found in safe houses that are not in the first zone.

I can't seem to find any other safehouse (Green house logo). There are only white and gray house logos and some of them are glitchy without even a bed

Have you been to another island like the garden district or the real town? Have you been past a load screen ever?
Safehouses exist, one per island section of the map.

Don't know what to tell you, dude. On my map, the safehouse is behind fardays and is super easy to get to. Don't know if that helps you since the game is supposed to be procedurally generated. I can tell you there's a crafting bench right next to my safehouse in the very first area on my map, just to the south in a house.

Does that help you any? Probably not since the game RNGs the map.

Considering Neon says they're looking to buy a pipe valve they've probably been to all three islands. The plague island is a bit large so perhaps you just missed it. The Wellie island sometimes has these joy detecting barriers up so you might just be unlucky enough for your safehouse to be in a spot thats mostly walled off or possibly entirely walled off. Look for any chunks of the map you might have missed. It could be in any intersection.

easiest way I've found to find safehouses is to just overdose on joy and you'll end up in the safehouse of the new area. Before going to any new island I just farm a few joys and pop them as soon as I load in.

1) Use jimmy bars to open the coins at telephone booths. Getting metal bits shouldn't really be a problem if you are looting things as you explore (remember to keep crafting components in your safehouse personal safe - you can still craft items using components from the safe even if they aren't on you). This alone should be able to get you the 50 coins to buy the pipe.

2) Ephemeral linen can be sold for a good amount of money if you can get away with a lot of them. This is tricky though because if you are caught - all the ephemeral linen you picked up vanishes and more don't respawn :( You only need one for the SoE quest, the rest can be sold.

There are 3 safe hosues total. 1 in each of the two islands of The Garden and 1 safe house in Wellington Wells. If you can't find the 2nd safe house in the garden, getting caught at the ephemeral mansion will automatically send you to it. I think if you die in Wellington Wells it will automatically send you to the Wellington safe house.
