They've gone on to do other things. It probably won't get updated any further.

They consider We happy few to be a finished product. I read recently that they are working on another story in perhaps similar settings. They haven't revealed anything yet. Whatever it is, I'm looking forward to it.

ah, sad for it to be like that tho, its a great game tho...

Yeah, I would have loved to get more We happy few content and especially a sequel. No doubt a game from another point of view would be a great success since most fans are very curious to know what's happening outside of Wellington Wells.
Yeah, finding out what happened to the reast of the world would be cool. Maybe some sort of anthology that shows different parts of the world?

It would be a good game for expansion. I hope they come back to the game someday and continue the story.

The last couple of real life years might have made the whole forced Joy medication and mask wearing, a controversial theme, though. Maybe in the future, once the social taboo aspect of it blows over, they'll do more with the game. I hope so. It's great in so many ways, and it has a lot of potential for expansion. New characters, in new areas of the world. Or maybe the original three characters, continuing from after their escapes from Wellington Wells.

Best game ever.

One can only hope to get more We happy few content. Definitely one of the best games out there and I think it's also very unique.

Please join us in writing to Congress to pass a new federal law. It should be literally criminal to sell games that the vendor, Steam, KNOWS are bugged and unsupported, at any price. This is like letting a car dealer sell a vehicle he knows has faulty brakes.

That's a good point
We must take our Joy and wear our happy masks. Or else be banished as a downer. I wonder if the real life situation made them decide not to continue working on the game. Their company probably would have been destroyed with accusations and cancelled from doing business anywhere. The timing seems to line up well with no new updates once the whole situation started.
Last update was Nov, 2019. The real life situation started just a couple months later with mask laws and distancing laws, etc.

The more I think about it, the more I think that was why the game couldn't be updated anymore without controversy.

I wouldn't mind some polish regarding game mechanics or NPC behaviour that adds more immersion to Wellington Wells (especially to the everyday life in the villages), but as far as the game's story goes I'm content with what we got. It's complete, and it's beautiful.

You're right. It is quite complete already. I'm glad they got to make the game before the real life situation hit the fan.

Lol you know what they say about life imitating art
Smoking Flowerpot Dec 29, 2022 @ 7:05pm
And vice versa, I think. Some things in the game were art imitating real life, and some things were life imitating the art. And, all mixed in with different time period references, being set in a past that had an altered past itself. It makes the game much more fascinating than most.
