Need advice on the Sally Campaign
This is brutal. I got the records to give the store keeper for milk. Now I dont have any water to use to make the baby milk. I dont have a metal pipe to make the filter, so cant make it from tap water.

I went out looking for a pump in the garden district and finally found one, killed the gaurds, and it is locked up. I dont have any bobby pins to make a lock pick. Im stuck. This is rough.

Now my burden from the baby is so big that I cant hardly carry anything. Is the only way to get rid of that to feed the baby the milk?

I think I may have to start the entire thing all over. Not sure I want to continue with this. Very frustrating. There isnt water available anywhere. I found one pump and its far away and locked up. Am I missing something?

Its like the level of difficulty is 10X as hard. I cant find any loot. Before i would check trash cans and find plenty of bobby pins etc. Is there a way I can lower the difficulty on this?

Does the game raise the level of difficulty on subsequent character campaigns?

Is there a merchant that sells lock picks? I dont recall seeing any. If I could find a place to buy the pipes I need for making water filters I would be good too.

Just realized there is a water filter on the counter in the kitchen in her home. I used it and was able to make milk.

Does that only allow you to make 3 pure waters from each water filter? I went down to get more water later and I think it consumed one of my water filters. It happened so fast that I didnt catch it.

The Sally chapter gets easier eventually. There's a water filtering machine on her kitchen counter. The machine there gets 3 uses out of each water filter, as opposed to only one use when using the crafting menu.

I think there's one filter already in the machine, and one more filter on the counter. You can fill up the Joy water from the sink, and then put it right into the water filtering machine to the left of the sink.

This exact same thing happened to me the first time I played Sally. It drove me nuts. I couldn't the stuff I needed to make water filters, and I missed seeing the filtering equipment on the counter. I also had a hard time finding bobby pins. You can't buy lockpicks, but eventually you'll find all you need from various garbages, etc. Also, if you bribe the blue village bobbies, they often drop things. Sometimes bobby pins, apples, trungeons, or keycards. Sometimes nothing though.

Garden district taps and wells give clean water. After making the milk though, you'll mostly only need that for making tea or drinking plain.

Your last reply didn't show until I'd already typed that one, but it looks like you found the filters.

Both Sally and Ollie have some harder parts than Arthur, I found.

Yeah, Sally's gameplay is harder due to these totems of parental neglect you accumulate over time, for which you have to pay attention to the baby icon.
A good way is to find the closest shelter everytime you explore the Garden District before going to a looting spree, allowing you to reach your home faster whenever you need it.
Also, the moment the baby icon reaches its 25%, best to get home to take care of the offspring to fill said icon up.

EDIT: typo.

After the first time playing her, and getting all that weighed down stuff, I now get the first two main quests (up to the automated feeder) done as quickly as I can, so that I can spend more time when doing other things. But, for the ones where I need that stamina boost, then it's off to home first to pick up Gwen.

Yeah, i cant find bobby pins anywhere! I would like to unlock that water pump I found in the garden district but can get a lockpick. I killed a bunch of the guards too and none of them had any. WIth the previous character they were everywhere.

Im glad to hear that they become easier to get later on! I need some. I wish the baby meter took longer to run down. Not much time to do anything and enjoy the game. I always feel so rushed.

I usually do all the quests I find when I find them, but with her you just have to leave them behind.

Ive only taken care of the baby one time. It seems like you get take care of the baby unless you reach the next stage of the quest? Like in the one i just did i had to get the milk. I tried going back to her and pick her up,but there was nothing I could do.

Is it like that the rest of the game, or can I do something like feed her again or change a diaper? That first run to get the milk was terribly hard because I couldnt reset that meter.

Now I cant find any rocks! Crazy. Looked in rubish piles and trashcans, all over.

As opal mentioned, you should be able to get a device to feed Gwen at some point of the game, allowing you more freedom, so yeah.

Yep, working on that soon. Right now I have to get chemicals to fix the lab. What I really want bad now is a dang rock! I want to make that better cleaver weapon. My regular cleaver sucks bad. I cant find rocks anywhere.
maldorf Jan 23, 2022 @ 4:03pm
Youd think I could find a rock somewhere!
Smoking Flowerpot Jan 23, 2022 @ 5:00pm
Start the quest for the feeder anyways at this point, since you'll have to wait a day or two for it to be made. Meanwhile, you can look for rocks and the things you need to fix the lab.

Do you have the recipe for caltrops (under weapons)? They're very handy especially if you can't make sharp weapons yet. You throw them on the ground and any npc's walking over them stumble and can't fight for a minute or so. Gives you time to take them out without them killing you first.

If you have any scotch, and access to the blue village bobbies (not garden guards), bribing them often makes them drop things like bobby pins, weapons, apples, keycards, etc. The bobby pins and maybe the weapons too, might be useful while still looking for rocks.
