There's not way to clean memory loss right now I believe.
And it resets back to zero? Or it will stay filled and every next time I take a joy pill/eat food with joy/drink water with joy, I will be getting this joy crash effect?
You'll have to rest, feed and drink, it basically puts all needs meters to zero and yes, the crash meter will be reset after it, so you won't have it again after a few pills
Although.. I'll be honest, it makes the game seem a bit easier then. Would be logical to see this joy meter to be a sort of a "doomsday clock" over the player if they overuse the joy stuff on hard/permadeath difficulty or something. And of course add a way to flush the body using some kind of very rare or unique food/drug/injection/whatever to clear up this meter. Hard to obtain(perhaps even part of the quest?), to also use with care.
Makes sense that if Arthur(for example) would just go back to his "happy life" after overdoing Joy again while trying to escape - he'd just forget the reason that he wants to escape and... Decide not to. To get back to work, to normal life... Game over, start from scratch :)
